One day I decided to start doing something simple: each time I visited a new place, I picked up 10 pieces of trash. The difference was immediate – not just in the place itself, but in how I felt about being there.

It’s incredibly simple:
- Go somewhere – A tourist spot, park, beach, trail, or even your own neighborhood.
- Pick up 10 pieces of trash – Candy wrappers, cans, bottles, plastic, paper – any safe, non-hazardous litter you see. Use gloves or a trash grabber if you have one.
- Dispose of it properly – Put it in a trash can or recycling bin.
That’s it. No big commitment. No guilt if you miss a spot. Just consistent small acts of care that add up.

- Trash poker / Litter grabber – A long-handled picker (with a clamp or pin) that lets you grab trash without bending over. Compact grabbers are perfect, if traveling.
- Gloves – Durable, reusable gloves to keep your hands clean and protected.
- Small bag – Something to carry your collected trash until you find a bin.
Start with whatever you have — even just a plastic grocery bag will work.
